[ But he laughs anyway, having a couple of bites of salad so that he can resist the urge to reach across the table and hold onto Yael's hand. Embarrassing. ]

Grinning, Yael polishes off his meal and pushes the emptied bowl aside. He's in no rush here, leaving Yuui to take his time with his salad while his fingers flirt with his knee beneath the table.]

[ Just a touch to his knee does something to him, his heart fluttering in his chest. It's a good thing that Yael doesn't know how irresistible Yuui finds him. ]

When I was with my ex, I'd always wait for her to fall asleep first, that way if anything was keeping her up at night, I'd be there to talk to her about it. I figured why not do the same for you?

[Getting used to being one of the men in the relationship and not the man in the relationship's going to take some getting used to. Yael wants to politely decline Yuui's offer, but he knows he won't get away with it.]

[Capturing Yuui's hand in his own, Yael squeezes it.]

You wanted honesty, right? I've lost my fair share of sleep worrying about you, but that's only natural. Couples worry about each other.

[ He doesn't know what to say, finding himself momentarily speechless. Truthfully, a small part of him had doubted that Yael really loved him, as honest as he usually is, because of the feelings he harbors for someone else.

But it's hard to deny even the loudest doubts in his mind when he's confronted with this. ]
