[He'd forgotten how good a simple hug feels, how wonderful it is to hold someone in his arms. Yael lets himself relax into it, setting his cheek against the side of Fai's head and simply losing himself in the moment a little.]

Can't get me off of your mind, huh? I'm flattered.

[He gives Fai a little squeeze— the feeling's mutual.]

[ He laughs softly, giving Yael a quick squeeze before stepping away. Yuui is more than aware of his own feelings, but vocalizing them is still terrifying nevertheless. ]

Come on.

[ Fai leads Yael up to his apartment, it’s a small studio, but Yuui has clearly done a lot of work to make it look nice. Almost immediately after he opens the door, a fluffy white cat bolts towards Yael and starts rubbing up against his legs. ]

[Man... Yael's apartment is larger in terms of square footage, but it's nowhere near this nicely decorated. Yael huffs, as impressed as he is surprised that Fai has such a keen eye, but then he gets distracted by the ball of fluff making a beeline for his ankles. He wastes no time bending down to pet her.]

Mokona, right? I remember you.

[ And now Yael knows why Yuui was worried about Yael living in an example of r/malelivingspaces.

He laughs, crouching down to pet her too as she meows. ]

She's hard to forget, isn't she?

[This little cucker... Yael gives her some scritches right under her chin.]

What a pretty lady. She takes after her owner.

[ He laughs, scooping her up so he can take her into the bathroom. ]

Don’t worry about her, she’s got plenty of toys and things to do in there.

[ He shoots Yael a little grin as he shuts the bathroom door. ]

I don’t want distractions while we try to talk.

[...Something about this entire string of events makes Yael laugh. He has a different take on locking up poor Monoka.]

You don't want her seeing anything she shouldn't, huh?

She might bite you in the butt. It's happened before.

[ Sometimes he just... forgets, and she pays him back for it. ]

Hm. I might bite you in the butt.

[Yes, yes, they're here to talk... but Yael doesn't know how well he can manage when he's been invited into Fai's apartment. Something about being here simply flips a switch in his mind, but Fai can understand that, can't he? He's a man too.]

[ Luckily for him, Yuui has played this game many, many times. ]

Really? I'd like to see you try.

[ Is that a challenge? Yes, absolutely. But Yael is going to have to come initiate it if he wants it so badly—that will be Yuui's compensation for waiting to talk until later.

He knows what tends to happen when he invites people to his place, innocent intentions or not. ]

[Right, right. Fai isn't out of his element whatsoever, so he's no doubt done this plenty of times... but that only incentivizes Yael to do things differently. Stepping closer, he sweeps Fai up into his arms and carries him to bed, laying him down and settling right beside him.]

You're in your element, aren't you? Not judging, of course, but I'd rather watch you squirm.

[ Oh! Up he goes. Yuui makes a small sound of surprise when he's lifted, but he settles easily in Yael's arms, grinning when he's set down on the bed. ]

Would you? That's a bold desire.

[ And it excites him, honestly. Yuui sits up so he can rummage through his nightstand, pulling out a bottle of lube and tossing it on the bed between them. It's about half full. ]

I like to think your confidence isn't out of nowhere, though.

[weaseled]

[Yael wraps his arms around Fai almost protectively, rolling onto his back so the smaller man is lying on top of him. He's not incapable of functioning with his bad leg, but it's a lot less strenuous with the twink on top.

For now, Yael leaves that half-used bottle of lube beside them on the bed. It doesn't get a second glance.]

Mm? [Amused, Yael's laughter fans against Fai's bare neck where he presses a featherlight kiss to his skin.] What makes you say that?

[ Yuui laughs, resisting the urge to scrunch up a little, the puff of air making him feel suddenly ticklish. He rests his hands on Yael's chest, though he takes a while to get there, carefully tracing out his muscles from over his shirt with his fingers. ]

You were pretty good in Fragment, so I think you'll be even better here.

[weaseled]

[Fai can take his time acclimating while Yael does the same, going right for the tie in his hair and pulling it loose. It'd be a waste not to tangle his fingers through all this blond hair, and so he does, gently raking his fingers along Fai's scalp while he beats a path of kisses up his neck to his jaw.]

Such high expectations. Well, it's like I told you before... that game's pretty realistic, but nothing replaces the real thing.

[And, with a snicker:]

We won't have to worry about ruining our pants.

[ Yuui’s hair is soft and light on Yael’s fingers, clear evidence that he takes meticulous care of it. He sighs, tilting his chin to give Yael as much room as he wants to work with. Yael’s lips were warm on his skin in Fragment, but here? There’s more to it, a softer warmth as he feels the exact amount of pressure Yael puts behind those kisses. ]

Mm. [ He laughs softly, more of a chuckle. ] It’ll be nice not worrying about having to clean that up.

[It's clear from how carefully Yael handles Fai's hair that he's used to playing with long hair, stroking down through the fine strands and curling them around his fingers. He's taking his time with Fai just as he had when they first had sex in Fragment, taking the time to feel him on the flat of his tongue, to nose into his hair and breathe in his scent. Reality has so many small, but so very important legs up on the digital world.]

We'll have a different kind of cleanup to worry about.

[Pulling back, Yael smiles.]

Want a massage? Your muscles are full of knots.

[Did Fai realize Yael was studying his musculature?]

[ A passionate one night stand is one thing, but it's something else entirely to feel studied, to feel like his partner is trying to get to know him inside and out. It's nearly intoxicating with now new it is. Not even his exes took so much time with him.

And it's why his cheeks are slightly flushed as he pulls away just a bit to laugh softly, his hands settled squarely on Yael's chest, one right above his heart. ]

After you went to all that trouble to get me on top?

[ He's surprised that Yael can tell he's tense, but... maybe he shouldn't be. ]

[That flush... Ah, Fai really is lovely. Yael is already quite shameless in the way he appraises him, so why not gaze at him a bit more? He's earned those downturned eyes. Those flushed cheeks, and he makes Fai aware that he's noticed them, sweeping the backs of his fingers across one.]

It's fine. I can get where I need to from here.

[And by that, he means those poor shoulders. Nerves aside, he can imagine Fai carrying much of his stress in his shoulders given how much time he spends looking down at a textbook, the nerd. Yael's hands come up to knead into them, firm but relenting, seeking out knots and breaking them down beneath his fingertips.]

What's wrong? Having second thoughts?

[ Some of those knots are intense enough that Yuui squirms a bit under his touch, gasping softly whenever Yael’s fingers press on a particularly tough knot. ]

Not at all.

[ He’d even shake his head if Yael’s hands weren’t so firmly pressed on his shoulders. ]

I’m just… nervous, I guess.

[ Yuui laughs, a touch sheepish. It’s strange. He’s never this nervous. ]

[So he is nervous. That's what he thought. Yael's lips pull into a thin, knowing smile, kneading away as his eyes scan the room.]

Where do you keep your candles?

Top right drawer in my dresser.

[ He’s specifying for a reason, don’t go snooping, Yael. ]

Aren’t you going to make fun of me?

[ Come on, he’s waiting for it, his fingers even lightly tapping Yael’s chest in anticipation of needing to smack him. ]

[weaseled]

[Oh, he knows Fai is specifying for a reason, and it makes him laugh. Keep your secrets for now, Fai.

Sitting up, Yael moves Fai off his lap before making his way over to the dresser and retrieving some candles. Pulling a lighter from his pocket, he lights several and places them around the room.]

I can, if that's what you're into.

[But otherwise, he's not so inclined at the moment. Returning to the bed, Yael sits himself on the edge and twirls his finger in the air: lay on your stomach.]

Mm, these candles aren't cheap. You really do love to indulge, huh. While I'm at it, got any lotion?

Candles go on sale, you know.

[ But, ah. This whole thing is doing something to his heart, making it pound in a way it hasn’t in quite a while. He’s nervous, yes, but there’s an undercurrent of excitement there too.

Yuui pulls his jumper over his head before obediently laying on his stomach. ]

Lotion and oil is in my nightstand, top drawer.

[ He’s got a lot, so Yael is free to pick whatever scent he feels like. Yuui spends money on skincare and candles… he likes vibes. ]

I wouldn't know, actually.

[Candles aren't something Yael regularly buys, but at least he knows when to use them. Leaning forward, Yael rummages through the nightstand's top drawer and grabs two bottles: one is lotion, the other massage oil. Yael whistles.]

You're prepared for anything, huh. Well, that works out.

[Not a lick of judgment in Yael's voice. He shifts, more of the mattress depressing and groaning beneath his weight, to straddle either side of Fai's hips. Pouring some massage oil onto his palm, he gives it a moment to warm to the temperature of his skin.]

So I take it you've been rubbed down before. How do you like it... monsieur?

[French does. Not sound natural when Yael speaks it. Hell, it doesn't even sound like he made any effort to pronounce the word right. While the oil warms in one hand, Yael digs out his phone to set the mood with the cheesiest b-grade porno music he can find online.]
