[ Yuui even has the audacity to look disappointed as he leans forward to grab more bread. ]

I realized I loved my first boyfriend at a random moment. We'd usually walk home together when he was done with football practice, but I was running late after school. I thought I'd swing by to see if he had left yet, but he was waiting for me.

[ He smiles, just a touch shy at sharing this, but there's a softness in his eyes. Has he mentioned this boyfriend...? If not, oops. ]

A small moment in the scheme of things, but seeing him waiting there meant a lot to me.

Football practice, huh.

[Forgive the snort of laughter. That's too perfect.]

[But Yuui isn't the only one with a possessive streak. Reaching across the table, Yael pinches Yuui's cheek, a lopsided grin on his lips.]

Cute story. Why'd you break up with that guy?

[ He'll allow that little pinch and the comment about a type, but only because he thinks that little lopsided grin is cute. ]

His mother fell ill and had to go back home to Japan.

[ In other words, it wasn't by choice. ]

[Well. That complicates matters, doesn't it? Yael chooses not to think about whether or not Yuui has any lingering affection for that man, focusing instead on their meals as the waiter swings by to drop their order off.

A few bites of beef and rice and he's collected himself enough to answer, though he really wouldn't mind dropping this conversation wholesale.]

I see. Sorry to hear it.

[ Oh, his food looks delicious and Yuui immediately dives into his dish.

But Yael's lack of a reaction is very, very telling. Taking his spoon and grabbing a bit off of Yael's plate, he tilts his head. ]

You seem upset.

[He sure doesn't feel upset. What's Yuui on about? Nom nom, beef.......................]

Pretty sure I'm fine. Concentrate on your food.

I tell you why we split up and you go silent for several minutes, only to say "sorry to hear that". It's a little hard to concentrate on my food when you're sulking right in front of me.

[ He pops the spoonful of Yael's food into his own mouth though. It's delicious, just as he had expected. ]

[Mmph. Ah, Greek salad... It's as refreshingly tart as Yael remembers.]

I just don't like the idea that you might still have feelings for the guy. Even if you won't act on them, that annoys me.

[ ...Hm. Is Yael possessive? He wonders, looking at Yael like he's just had a revelation. ]

I haven't spoken with Youou in two years.

[ He pauses. ]

Also, we broke up when we were seventeen.

[hE DIDN'T ASK, but it's fine. It's fine! A bit weird that Yuui still corresponds with the guy, even if it's been years, but whatever. Shut up and let him eat his meat in peace.]

Weird name. Why haven't you talked to him since then? Did you tell him you were getting an internet boyfriend in two years?

[ Yuui shouldn't, but he laughs. It's kind of cute, the way Yael is acting so petulant. ]

We fell out of contact. That's all.

[ With a smile, he has more of his food, watching Yael as he chews. ]

Are you jealous?

[It sure would be a shame if he didn't hear what Yuui was accusing him of because he's yawning. Yaaaawn.]

Couldn't care less. How's your salad?

[Yael nudges Yuui's plate closer to him. Eat ya damn lettuce, rabbit.]

As delicious as your meal.

[ He loves this place, basically. 10/10 would pick it up on his way to visit Yael.

Taking another spoonful of his salad, he points his utensil at Yael. ]

You're a lot easier to read than you think. It's so obvious that you're mad.

[The epitome of maturity, Yael scoops up a little rice in his spoon, pulls back the tip, and slingshots it at Yuui's face.]

I don't talk to my ex at all. What's your excuse? Fell out of contact, my ass.

[ What's worse, that Yuui thinks the way Yael flings rice out of him kind of endearing or that Yael has done it at all at his big age? Picking individual trains out of his hair, Yuui sighs. ]

We remained friends, Sheza. He would ask me often about my family life before I went to college, and then he'd ask me about my studies. The messages grew further and further apart until we just said happy birthday to one another. Now, we don't say anything.

[ They simply drifted apart, as people who live far away tend to do. ]

[Yael lazily nods along, helping himself to more and more rice and meat.]

Gotcha. It's not that I don't trust you — I do — but it's the other guy I wonder about.

[ Yuui leans forward, stealing more of Yael's food because he feels like he's owed it after having some of it flung at him. ]

I really doubt it, but if he somehow, some way managed to still have feelings for me, he'd see that I was in a relationship and immediately back off.

[ Ah.

He pauses, flashing Yael a sheepish smile, his expression suddenly turning a little shy. ]

If... that's what you still want, that is.

[Ah, yes. Submit all mortal possessions to the twink, so says the bible if you read it with your eyes closed. Happy wife, happy life, go ahead and eat all his damn food.

...Mm, but the uncertainty in Yuui's voice makes him smile. Yael leans forward and down, and Yuui might wonder what he's doing until Yael's hand settles on his knee from beneath the table.]

You know I've made up my mind, right? I want you. Even though you eat my food and stick your fingers in my ass, I still want you.

[ He definitely wonders, at least until he feels that familiar palm on his knee. ]

Wow, you could at least act like you enjoyed it as much as I know you did.

[ Yuui knows Yael had never come so hard in his life, after all. It was easy to tell. ]

But... I want you too. I hope that it's obvious enough for you.

[Mm, nope, not answering that. He did come harder than he's ever come in his life, but Yael isn't ready to accept fingers in his ass as his lord and savior just yet.]

It is. It's obvious I want you too, isn't it?

[ He'll be converted soon enough. ]

[ It is obvious, but he still wants to push Yael a little anyway. After all, Yuui likes the continual push and pull of their relationship. ]

If you could make it really, really obvious... I'd be happy.

[Yael snorts— you're cute, Yuui. Adorable.]

[ He laughs softly to himself, the idea genuinely appealing despite his wariness when it comes to public affection. Maybe it's the contrast to Yael's usual way of carrying himself. ]

[All joking aside, Yael considers his options carefully as his eyes settle on Yuui's. Ah. He'll start there.]
