Pushing back, Yael rises from his chair and steadies himself with his cane, heading for the door.]

[Like the true gentleman he very much isn't, Yael holds the door open for Fai.]

[ Ah, leave it to Yael to hold open the door for him even though he's managing a cane. Yuui grins, hopping outside. ]

[ He looks for it too, wondering if it's one of the beat-up looking ones on the block. ]

[Yael's car isn't some beat up clunker. It's a sensible choice for a sensible man: a 4Runner, though it isn't the most economical. Seems Yael spoils his car baby, given how nice and clean it is inside and out. Speaking of inside, he opens the door for Fai before rounding the vehicle to let himself in.]

[ He’s kind of surprised by the sweet treatment, but honestly? He’s loving it.

Yuui settles comfortably in his seat before pointing down the road. ]

A little ways that way. Maybe a couple of minutes by car.

[ But he’ll reach out and set his hand on Yael’s thigh. That makes up for it, right? ]

[Sure Fai, activate his lizard brain by putting your hand on his thigh. That can only end well.]

[Yael returns the favor and sets his hand on Fai's leg... only for his fingers to curl inward and dig into his soft inner thigh.]

[ His breath hitches and he almost regrets where he put his hand. Almost.

…They’re not going to do much talking at all, are they? It’s starting to seem like they won’t. ]

Do I look like I can carry you?

[ He laughs, a little bit nervously, before pointing out a quaint building. ]

[Sure, they can talk, but Yael doesn't see anything wrong with getting a little sidetracked first. Fai feels as warm under his palm as always... but there's something different about touching Fai in person. Something the digital world just can't replicate, and it's that that Yael can't seem to get his mind off of.]

With a bit of strength training, sure. I can give you some pointers.

[When they pull into the complex and park, Yael does his second good deed for the day and opens Fai's door, offering him a hand.]

[ Yuui smiles a little before taking his hand. ]

I don’t think I’d mind a pointer or two.

[ But now that they’re in a less busy area… he looks around before wrapping his arms around Yael’s middle, burying his face against his shoulder.

He’s warm, just as warm as he was in Fragment, but there’s something the digital world can’t replicate, and Yuui can’t seem to take his mind off of it. ]

They're the first words on Yael's mind and the ones he feels right down to his heart, exhaling a sigh he hadn't realized he'd been holding in when Fai's arms come up around him. Yael returns his embrace, of course, and the fit is like a hand in glove— a missing puzzle piece, if he lets the quiet romantic in him get a word in.]

...What a sap. How long have you been waiting for this?

[Yael just can't seem to help himself, nosing into Fai's hair and burying a kiss there. He's so soft, so warm, and so incredibly comforting to hold. Unconsciously, Yael's arms wrap a little more tightly around him.]

[ His arms squeeze Yael just a little tighter, the sturdiness of his body against Yuui’s a comfort. ]

A while. Ever since we exchanged numbers. I think I’ve daydreamed about this more than anything else.

[ Because when it comes down to it, these are the things that feel particularly special, the moments that etch themselves into Yuui’s heart. ]

[He'd forgotten how good a simple hug feels, how wonderful it is to hold someone in his arms. Yael lets himself relax into it, setting his cheek against the side of Fai's head and simply losing himself in the moment a little.]

[He gives Fai a little squeeze— the feeling's mutual.]

[ He laughs softly, giving Yael a quick squeeze before stepping away. Yuui is more than aware of his own feelings, but vocalizing them is still terrifying nevertheless. ]

[ Fai leads Yael up to his apartment, it’s a small studio, but Yuui has clearly done a lot of work to make it look nice. Almost immediately after he opens the door, a fluffy white cat bolts towards Yael and starts rubbing up against his legs. ]

[Man... Yael's apartment is larger in terms of square footage, but it's nowhere near this nicely decorated. Yael huffs, as impressed as he is surprised that Fai has such a keen eye, but then he gets distracted by the ball of fluff making a beeline for his ankles. He wastes no time bending down to pet her.]

Mokona, right? I remember you.

[ And now Yael knows why Yuui was worried about Yael living in an example of r/malelivingspaces.

He laughs, crouching down to pet her too as she meows. ]
